Hey guys (in before the week ends)
A lots been going on in my life recently.
For starters, as a I was going through what I was going to give up for lent, i realized that what i was giving up was really just because i didnt know what else to give up. So going after the social standard of what people usually give up, i nonchalantly put down giving up fast food. But just aa few minutes later, as I was going through my news feed, I saw a link named "Intervarsity Lent"
it turned out to be the OSU chapter's lent commitments. I was really moved by their chapter-wide commitment and had to reevaluate my whole thought process for lent. Firstly, I gave the suggestion to the my leaders here as well and by God's grace we were able to get everything done to make the announcement at our large group. I really felt that God was helping me this whole process, since I gave the suggestion like around wed. midnight and we still were able to get everything done, so I'm really thankful for that.
What does this mean for me personally? Aside from participating with my chapter in our lent commitments (fasting, weekly DPM, giving), I'm also keeping my original Lent commitment of having a set time of reflection for the first 20 days and journaling the last 20. Keep me accountable guys!
Also in other news, I've also been offered a leadership position in AIV next year (small group helper) and I'm in the proces sof praying and considering if i should consider accepting the position or not. Also, since in AIV , discipleship is somewhat facilitated by a coordinator, I've been potentially matched with someone. So yeah, I guess as a prayer request, pray that I could make the right decision and keep my decisions God-based given these big choices I have coming up. Thanks!
