Hey errbody,
My Lent has been really good so far. I don't know about my commitments - but quitting Google Reader has been good - except for the fact I can't keep up with news or sports anymore. I usually start clicking and using it whenever I have time on a computer and I don't feel like doing work or anything, and I... still don't think I'm being productive, but there's potential for it. Honestly, I haven't had much time to stop these past few days. Sleep included. But I've found time to spend with God, which has been awesome.
God is:
1) Growing my heart for the lost. Some events happened that totally made me think about what Jesus meant when he said he would leave 99 sheep to go find 1, or when it says he ate with tax collectors, sinners, and prostitutes. Feel free to ask in person. :)
2) Teaching me to love His presence and to wait on Him. It's been really good spending personal time with God, and I've been meeting Him so thickly every time. Every corporate gathering we've had, 4 hours seemed like a moment and sometimes 10 minutes feels like I've been there 2 hours. Made me think of that verse that "...with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day" (2 Peter 3:8b).
3) Answering prayers. I've been praying for little things and for answers, and God has been tangibly responding - whether it's a "Later", a "No", or a "Yes." It's been so evident and I'm really thankful that He always does it in some weird way that I would never expect - I guess that's why I'm not God. He's answered like.. 5 prayers this past week that I remember. Maybe more.
