Hi :)
My lent commitment has been going pretty well. Other than the fact that I go to sleep even later than I had been before, I'm gaining a lot in return so I don't have much to complain about. Plus I work for a cafe, so attaining the proper caffeine supply hasn't been much of an issue. A few things I've learned/benefited from:
1. recorded thoughts. as opposed to floating, soupy thoughts.
2. joy in making some visual aids. I'm a graphic designer after all.
3. solidification of convictions and prayers. increased PTL rate.
4. better connection with some people who I can't always stay in touch with.
5. confirmation that I indeed do prefer written/visual communication instead of verbal.
6. more consistent focus on God and how he's speaking to me throughout the day. I'd rather not sit in front of the computer twiddling my thumbs trying to write an entry, so I try to think throughout the day of what to write about.
In conclusion, it's been fun and encouraging and I just hope I have enough energy to keep up and remain faithful.
In other news, I really do feel like God has been increasing my heart of love for the lost during Lent. Similar to Michael, I had a powerful time of prayer for some of my friends during the all-nighter. I'm also really encouraged by how many newcomers we've been seeing at LG and broomball and stuff. Something's a-stirring, and I'm getting excited :)
In other other news, I def have had my low moments even in the midst of all this goodness. I'm really trying to cling to God's word and rely on his grace. For someone like me this is tough stuff, but today was a good test with a lot of stressful things going on, and he's been pulling through pretty well so far. Eggcited to see you guys tomorrow!
