Ahem...a couple days late..sorry guys! I had my thoughts written out on paper and then never got around to a computer for a significant amount of time =P I don't even know how many of you guys knew before I sent that email, but I'm in LA! Just for a day and a half more now. Today was my first full day. I went to the outlet mall with my aunt for the majority of the day, and then hung out with Dave (a friend who just left AA this past year). It was fun! Got my first pair of designer jeans and found a pair of running shoes (Dave and Jon are shoe guru buddies, btw). Now I'm in my little sister's dorm at Occidental woohoo.

Ok so sorry to go back in time, but back to Joshua 23... I think I'll just type out part of the prayer that I wrote in my journal in response to this passage.

Lord, I pray for true discipleship in our generation. For radical people who will learn to stand without budging from upholding the name of Christ and biblical values. Lord build up within us such a trust, love and reverence of you that we would have no greater desire than to worship you, share you and glorify you wherever we go, no matter what we're doing. May we be lovers of Christ. Lovers of your glory and fame and the bringing of your kingdom.

There's so much tainting our view of you and of this world. Cleanse us and free us - you alone can conquer every idol, sin and stronghold. Please Lord, tear down addictions, fears, insecurities, unbelief, hurts, distractions, lies, deceit, compromises, regrets, idols of self, money, people, approval, pleasure, status, comfort, parents/family, appearance, control. Lord, FIGHT for us. Release us and heal us. Make us completely yours and restore us.

You already fought for us. You won our battles and fulfilled your promises. Encourage us and help us to see what's next - what a redeemed life looks like. Disciple us, Lord! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
