So Lent sneaked up on me this year, so I wasn't able to put extensive thought into it this time around.
I've been feeling for a while that I need to break out of my usual comforts. So I decided in the end to give something up in order to take some things on. It might be overly ambitious, but I feel like since I'm doing nonsensical things at the macro level right now in my life, I may as well continue the trend at a micro level :P
1. Doing away with all browsing/leisure websites. This includes anything for video, art, music, etc.
2. Writing every day. I need to overcome the block. I have to write a non-fiction piece for my creative writing class, and it's going to be hard to write because it's deeply personal/slightly sensitive. Must pray for vulnerability and boldness, so that it can show through in my writing, because I realize I'm all too conscious of the potential reader when I'm writing... if anybody's particularly interested in reading it for whatever bizarre reason, I can let you be a beta-reader and send rough copies to you throughout Lent.
3. To at least share the gospel with three separate people for every week until Easter. I'm *hoping* this will instill better habits, break me of my comfort/fear of talking to people, as well as help me to grow in my own adoration and commitment towards God. If you guys feel gutsy, let's do it together!! Let me know and we can set aside a little time to meet new people on campus and talk about Jesus :)
Onward!!!!!
and keep me accountable guys, for reals.
