OMG dudes. Unless you want to be curled up in a ball and fainting from depression, do not pick this one up from your local red box. I agreed to watch this with my sisters and brother in law because they said it got good reviews and it was supposed to be a really good story. And the main actor is Aragorn. HOWEVER, this movie for me was 2+ hours of suffering my heart and brain away, painfully observing what the meaning of life without God is, cringing at a mediocre father/son relationship, and constantly wondering when the next attack from cannibalists would jump out. Torture, I tell you.
The acting was fine and the filming and lighting and effects and whatever were all fine. But for the sake of your heart and your soul, I would say avoid watching at all costs. I don't know what to give it on a scale of 0-5. No comment.
Had to watch Kung Fu Panda right afterward to make up for the loss of heart cells. That's about a 4.5 :D
