hi i'm on a boat! yay, glad to read all the posts, and hope the rest of you are having good breaks too. my favorite season is autumn, so I'm pretty glad my mom took this particular picture of me :) and bonus! there's an infant pic of my little sister too hehe. I've had a pretty relaxing break, with pretty much all fam time. I saw a couple friends the night I got in - one at a restaurant in chicago right by jerry's house! haha I could literally use his parking spot. btw everyone, jerry's an awesome car buddy. he faithfully stays awake and converses the entire time :)
then thursday was cooking all day and then eating all night. here's a pic of the food and people we had at our house:

we had relatives, in-laws, cousin's girlfriend, and their dog (not pictured). it was yummy and fun. then friday was shopping with some of the girls while the guys got a tree, and we decorated it last night :) today I had a bunch of work to get done, so I was working most of the day (but it was fun projects). and then we celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday for dinner and capped off the night with wii sports haha.
down side is it's been hard for me to have some of my own time to just chill with God, which I've been wanting to do since missions week. I think "missions week" really started for me back when pastor james & faith came, because I was really blown away by their stories and how simply & obediently they just loved God and listened to him. their life became as radical as it is by their awesome relationship with God and willingness to simply go where he led them. their lives/stories inspired me, especially in my state of trying so hard to "figure everything out" in terms of my future. I realized that I'd lost a sense of pure trust and simply making God my one desire in the midst of everything.
I think I'm still processing through jaeson ma and the rest of missions week, but one thing I'm definitely inspired by is a reminder that God can use whatever field we're in for his glory. also CRAZY reconnection with someone I knew from freshman year of high school. the girl in his traveling crew (who was selling the merchandise) went to my school! we recognized each other almost immediately and did some mad catching up. crazy how small a world this is sometimes, especially when it comes to running into fellow servants of God. it was really cool seeing how God changed and now uses a random classmate I knew from so many years ago :)
OK see you all this week!! travel back to AA safely if you're out of town!
